Notre-Dame:

The most well-known cathedral in France.
The masterpiece of gothic architecture, it has forever inspired poets, painters and musicians, from François Villon to Victor Hugo, to the hit musical, Notre Dame de Paris in 1998.

The Opera Garnier:

One of the largest theaters in the world.
Built in 1860, it is considered one of the masterpieces of architecture of its time.

 

Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur:

The painters’ district in the early twentieth century.
Located at the top of the Montmartre hill, the panoramic view from the Sacré-Coeur basilica encompasses all of Paris. The site also offers a garden with a fountain.

The Louvre museum:

The world’s largest and most visited art museum.
The museum houses works from ancient civilizations to 1848, including 6,000 European paintings dating from the late thirteenth century to the mid-nineteenth century.

The Pompidou Centre:

This monument of modern architecture houses the Musée national d’art moderne (the national museum of modern art), a library and temporary exhibitions.

La Place des Vosges:

One of the most beautiful squares in Paris, dating back from the seventeenth century.
At the heart of the Marais, this busy spot is well-known for its manicured lawns and arcades and hosts outdoor cafes and restaurants, as well as some interesting shops and Art Galeries.

The Latin Quarter:

Latinum area, one of the world’s most famous historic districts in Paris.
Very popular with students and teachers as many universities and schools are located there, this extensive neighborhood includes many interesting sites to visit, including Lutece’s arenas.
